Mistrelie Railway Notes is a small independent publication on the history of railways: the engineers, the lines, the machines and the rules that made travelling by rail possible.

We publish short essays written from printed sources and checked against more than one of them. Where accounts differ, we say so. We do not cover current news, ticket prices or travel offers.

The site has no advertising and does not track its readers. Two sections look more closely at particular subjects: Depot, on locomotives and workshops, and Signal, on signalling, stations and lines.
